Cloud Architect

Salary:

$170,000 -$190,000

*Position is based in Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL*

* Must have an active DoD Secret clearance*

Position Overview: 

The Cloud Architect will specialize in designing, deploying, and managing hybrid cloud environments—environments that combine on-premises infrastructure (private cloud or traditional data centers) with public cloud platforms. 

 Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for providing engineering and technical direction for problem definition, analysis, requirements development, and implementation to include designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions that support mission system and multiple customers
  • Designing scalable and secure cloud solutions that align with DoD requirements
  • Ensuring computing environments meet existing security requirements
  • Working matrixed with developers, administrators, and network engineers to optimize workflows
  • Deploy and manage virtual networks, computer resources, and cloud-based storage
  • Implement automation and optimization tools in a multi-cloud environment utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code tools
  • Identifying, communicating, and mitigating risks associated with data solutions
  • Advise leadership and customers on cloud strategies, tools, and best practices
  • Develop solutions architectures and evaluate architectural alternatives for hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services

Qualifications: 

  • 7 years of directly related experience in technical architecture and design in complex IT environments
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related degree
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, scalability)
  • Executive communication skills

Desired:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
  • CISSP or CASP+
  • Experience with Secure Cloud Computing Architecture
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Agile development experience and leadership with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with one or more languages; Python, C/C++, Java. Javascript, Bash. Ansible. PowerShell
  • Experience with virtualization tools such as VMWare, OpenShift
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) experience

Certification Requirements:  

  • Must have, or obtain within 60 days of hire, a current IAT Level II Certification  

Security Requirements:  

  • Must be able to obtain an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
